The brewery was offered for lease in April 1863:

TO LET, THE BALLARAT BREWERY, Lydiard street, lately occupied by Messrs M'Carthy and Co., with coppers, tanks, &c., and every requisite for carrying on the business. W. C. SMITH, Sturt street.[1]
