In October 1855 hotel was the venue for an inquest into a body found nearby:
Dr. Clendinning held an inquest, on the 16rh inst., at the Belfast Hotel, near the Clune's Diggings, on the body of Joseph Wm. Kidds, a storekeeper at Spring Creek, Mt. Franklin, who was on his way, with his mate, to Fiery Creek Diggings...he was found by Mr. G. Lalor's servant, lying on his face on the ground, within a few miles of the Belfast Hotel, and some four or five miles from the place he left his mate. He had been dead many days, as his face and other parts of his body were much disfigured by having rotted away, &c[2]

- In April the publican, Bell, was elected to the Ballarat Licensed Victuallers' Association.[3]
- In June 1864 the publican was J. Huckerby.[1]
- From at least December 1872 to December 1873 the publican was Thomas Bell.[4][5]
