The Black Horse Inn was a hotel in Ballarat, Victoria, <1873-1892.

The hotel was on the corner of Drummond Street and South Street.[1][2]

History[edit | edit source]
It was one of the 26 hotels closed in 1892 in Ballarat as part of the changes to licensing laws.[3] The owners were paid £654 compensation for the closure of the business.[3]

The People[edit | edit source]
- In December 1873, 1874 and 1875 George Alderson had his license renewed.[4][1][5]
- In June 1882 the license was transferred from the estate of George Alderson to Thomas Nicholls to act as an agent to continie the business.[6]
- In December 1882, a new license was granted to Thomas Nicholls.[7]
- In March 1892, Thomas Nicholls was owner and licensee.[2]
