The Black Lead Hotel was a hotel at Hiscocks, Victoria, <1861-1883>.

The hotel was at Hiscocks, a mining lead, just south of Buninyong.[1]

In February 1864 the newspaper carried the wedding notice for John Sisely

On the 3rd February, at Buninyong, by the Incumbent the Rev. G. J. Russell, John Sisely, Esq. of the Black Lead Hotel, late of Cornwall, England, to Mrs Catherine Chapman, late of London, daughter of Mitchell Roberts, Esq., of that city.[2]

In July 1868, Sisely was advertising for a man to drive a four horse wagon.[3]

The hotel was offered for sale in February 1882:

TUESDAY, 14th FEBRUARY, At One o'clock, On the Premises, near Buninyong Cemetery. The late Mr Chapman's BLACK LEAD HOTEL. K TUNBRIDGE and GO., instructed, will SELL by PUBLIC AUCTION, as above, HOTEL, Store, and Post-office; also Stock of GROCERIES, wines, spirits, glassware, furniture, firewood, counter and other scales, three cows, colt, horse, &c., without the least reserve. This is a good opportunity for anyone wanting a good country hotel. Mining is looking up in the district. Terms for property Easy; Chattels, Cash. R. TUNBRIDGE and CO., Auctioneers, Ballarat.[4]
