The hotel was in Sebastopol, near Mr. Winter's station.[1]

The hotel was offered for sale in May 1860:

To Hotelkeepers and Others. JAMES BAKER has received instructions to sell by public auction, if not previously disposed of, the whole of those superior premises (including household furniture, stock in trade, &c) known as THE BONSHAW HOTEL, (Near Mr Winter's Station). Also, Three Allotments of Freehold Land. The hotel is large and commodious, well built, and neatly fitted up, and contains Bar, 4 sitting rooms, 8 bedrooms, kitchen and stable. The Furniture consists of chairs, large cedar table, 2 deal tables, &c., &c. J.B. respectfully calls the attention of those persons who are requiring a business at a small outlay, to this opportunity, the prices being low, the terms easy, and everything being on the premises necessary to a continuance of the business.
