History[edit | edit source]

The hotel was listed for closure by the License Reduction Board, and a hearing was held in September 1908 to determine the compensation:

BULLAROOK HOTEL, NEWLYN. Owner, Patrick Bolton; licensee, James Connors. Wm. A. Drew said the building contained 13 rooms. Based on a rental of £52 a year gross, and eleven years’ purchase, his capital value would be £484. De-licensed, the property would be worth £97 10s, of which £22 10s would be for land. After the licensee had given evidence, the board announced that its decision would be reserved.[2]

An inquest was held on 12th April, at Bloink's hotel, Bullarook, on the body of Margaret Stewart, aged one month. Mr Roche, surgeon, made the post mortem examination.
