Charles Hager was a publican in Ballarat, Victoria, <1917-1937.

Hager was one of eight children of Rudolph Sophus Hager (c.1835-1909)[1] and Caroline Ratcliffe (1843-1928)[2] who were publicans in Ballarat. Charles was born in Ballarat East in 1881.[3]

Hager's elder brother, Rudolph Thomas Hager, had been a grocer in Bridge Street and later publican of the Imperial Hotel in Humffray Street.

Charles Hager was the licensee of the Criterion Hotel in Doveton Street in March 1911.[4]

Hager was the licensee of the North Star Hotel in Lydiard Street from at least <1917-1937.[5][6]

On 26 October 1917, his forthcoming marriage to Florrie Newton was announced in the paper.[5]Florrie was the daughter of a publican, Michael Newton, of Newton's Hotel.[5][7]

In 1937 he sold his license to Eustace E. Andrew Merry[6]

He died at Ballarat in 1957.[8]
