History[edit | edit source]

The brewery was flooded in April 1903:

A BREWERY FLOODED. BALLARAT, Sunday Evening. The Wendouree channels running under Coghlan and Tulloch's Brewery, Creswick Road got blocked yesterday, with the result that flood-waters burst through the brewery and flooded the cellars, and afterward swept through the entire building. Thirty feet of an outer brick wall ten feet high collapsed with a thunderous report. Frank Medley had been working in the cellar a few minutes before the in rush. All low-lying parts were flooded. At many warehouses in Ballarat the water came through the roof, doing considerable damage to the stock. At Susman and Co. furniture warehouse, in Bridge street, over £50 worth of damage has been done. The Yarrowee Creek contained more water than been seen in it for years. Nearly three inches have fallen in the last three days.[1]
