The press reported on gold near the hotel in October 1881:

The rush near Scott’s Commercial hotel is still looking well. Six or seven parties are on good gold, some doing £15 per week per man.[1]

  • In September 1885 the hotel was the venue for the fortnightly meeting of the A.M.A.[2]

  • In October 1881 the hotel publican was Scott.[1]
