The Cornish Arms was a hotel in Ballarat, Victoria, <1869-1892.

The hotel was on the corner of Doveton Street and Doveton Crescent.[1]

History[edit | edit source]

It was one of the 26 hotels closed in 1892 in Ballarat as part of the changes to licensing laws.[2] The owners were paid £1024 compensation for the closure of the business.[2]

  • In August 1869, a candidate for the North Ward, R. Baker, held a meeting at the hotel.[3]
  • In August 1886, a candidate for the North Ward, P. B. Ivey, held a meeting at the hotel.[4]
