In March 1871, McKenzie was granted a license for an unnamed hotel at Deep Creek:
Duncan McKenzie’s application for a publican’s license for a house at Deep Creek was granted on condition of his immediately erecting a three-stall stable.[1]
In December 1871 he was granted the license for the Bridge Hotel at Deep Creek.[2]
