The Elephant and Castle was a hotel in Ballarat, Victoria, 1872-1877>.

The hotel was on the corner of Park Street and Adair Street Ballarat.[1]

In September 1872 the new hotel was granted a conditional license:

Edwin Prebble, for a new house at the corner of Park and Adair streets; granted, subject to certain requirements being complied with.[2]

The People[edit | edit source]

  • In September 1872 the license for the new hotel was granted to Edwin Prebble.[2]
  • In October 1873, the license was transferred from Edwin Prebble to Isaac Daw.[1]
    • His license was renewed in December 1875.[3]
  • In December 1877 the police objected to Isaac Daw's license renewal on the grounds that the building needed repairs. Adjourned for two weeks.[4]
