The Geelong Hotel was in Ballarat, Victoria, <1858-1863>.

The Geelong Hotel was described on the north east corner of Bridge Street and Grenville Street.[1][2]

The site had been Harris' Family Hotel, then the Geelong Hotel, then the Alexandra Hotel (c.1863), and the Stag Hotel (1864).[3]

At the Licensing Court hearing in 1862,

"...Sergeant Larner complained that there was frequent disorder at this house, and that the police had a great deal of trouble with drunken men coming therefrom. Postponed for fourteen day for show of improvement and to make inquiry."[1]

  • In July 1858 John Shaw was granted the license.[4]
    • His license was renewed in June 1859.[5]
  • In June 1861 the publican's license was granted to Henry Branston.[2]
    • It was renewed in June 1862.[1]
  • In May 1863 the publican was Mrs. T. Usher, late of the Shamrock Hotel, Geelong.[6]
