Also known as Lavery's Hotel.
History[edit | edit source]
On 22 March 1915, the hotel was included on a list of hotels to be deprived of their licenses. This list was complied by the Licenses Reduction Board in Melbourne. Licensing district hearings for hotels on this list were to be held at the Ballarat Supreme Court on 11 May.[1] The hotel was one of about 40 hotels closed by the License Reduction Board and ceased trading at 9.30pm on 31 December 1915.[2] The court paid the owner £310 compensation[3] and the licensee £80[4]

The hotel was the venue for company meetings including
- Trunk Lead Company, Haddon - April 1870.[5]
- Main Lead Consols Company, Springdallah - July 1874.[6]
The People[edit | edit source]
- In December 1871, the license was granted to Hugh Lavery.[7]
- In December 1881 the license was granted to Mary Loughnan.[9]
- In December 1889 Mary Cox had the license transferred from her deceased husband's name to J. B. Graham of the Railway Hotel at Linton.[12]
