History[edit | edit source]

In a court case in February 1866, the hotel was described as having become a "beershop", with a restricted license that only allowed trading between 6.00pm and 8.00pm.[2] In June 1866 an application for a license described the hotel as having "...a bar, bar parlor, sitting-room, five bedrooms, kitchen, (and) stables."[3]
