The hotel was offered for sale in December 1868:

FOR SALE, THE WELL-KNOWN HORSESHOE HOTEL, WEATHERBOARD HILL, LAKE LEARMONTH, Having ample domestic accommodation, with Stable, Piggeries, and other Out-buildings; also, 6 acres of fine Land, in Wheat and Potatoes, with abundant Water-supply. Further particulars may be had from Mr M'GRATH, on the property, or from JAMES ODDIE and CO., Land and Estate Agents.[1]
