It is possible that this is a misreporting of the Hit or Miss Hotel, also at Kooroocheang whose publican was named Jamieson.

On May 29, 1902 the Werona Gold Mining Company held it's meeting at the hotel:

THE WERONA G.M. CO. The fifth half-yearly general meeting of the above Company was held at James' Hotel, Kooroocheang, on Thursday, May 29th, 1902, tlie Chairman of Directors, Mr R. C. Davis, presiding.[1]

Mr Hugh Ross will meet the electors today at James’ hotel, Kooroocheang, at 6p.m., and Smeaton at 8 p.m.[2]
