Jeremiah Daly was a publican in Gordon, Victoria, <1872.

Daly held the license of the Victoria Hotel in Gordon.

In January 1861, Daly was listed as one of the shareholders when the United Extended Band of Hope Company increased its shareholdings from 3200 to 12,800, registered under the Limited Liability Act.[1]

He died in August 1872:

THE Friends of Mr JEREMIAH DALY, of Gordon, are respectfully invited to follow his remains to the place of interment, the New Cemetery, Gordon. The funeral procession to move from his residence, the Victoria Hotel, This Day (Thursday), the 15th inst., at Two o’clock p.m.[2]

His grave was mentioned in a newspaper article on the Gordon Cemetery in 1917:

Therein also lies Mr Jeremiah Daly, proprietor of Daly's hotel (now William's hotel, Gordon) who passed to his eternal reward in 1872.[3]

His wife, Kate Daly, took over the hotel until her death on 3 November 1885:

DALY.—In loving remembrance of Kate, relict of the late Jeremiah Daly, who departed this life on the 3rd November, at her late residence, Daly's Hotel, Gordon, fortified by the rites of her holy religion. A native of Whiddy Island, Bantry Bay, Ireland. A devoted mother and a sincere friend. May God have mercy on her soul.[4]
