John Bennett was a publican in Ballarat, Victoria, <1872-1874>.
History[edit | edit source]
In March 1872 Bennett took over the license of the Railway Hotel in Mair Street, Ballarat.[1] In December 1873 and 1874 he renewed the license.[2] The police objected to renewing the license in 1874 on the grounds of insufficient accommodation, but the court granted it anyway.[3]
At the Licensing Reduction Board hearings in June 1888, Bennett was named as the owner of the hotel, which he was leasing to Michael Cohen.[4]
