The hotel was in Blackwood.[1] The hotel was about 2.5 kms south of Blackwood, about half way to Greendale.[2] (Probably on the intersection with Mount Blackwood Road). In 1876, W. Smith was granted the license for the Bush Inn at Junction, Blackwood.[3] The location was described as the Junction in June 1864.[4]

History[edit | edit source]
There were two Junction Hotels licensed at the Blackwood Licensing Court in December 1877. One was at Barry's Reef about 2.5 kms north, and this hotel, 2.5 kms south.
In June 1864 the hotel was described as having two sitting rooms and three bedrooms.[4]
In August 1874 there had been an incident at the hotel:
At the Police Court on Monday, August 10th, before E. Baber, Esq., J.P., a man named Troy was charged with willful destruction of property at Smith's Junction hotel, also with drunkenness and assault, and was committed to jail for six months.[6]
The hotel was destroyed in a bushfire in February 1905:
At the other end of the district, the old Junction hotel, half way between Blackwood and Greendale, which has been unoccupied for some years, was demolished, and fencing burnt.[2]
