The hotel was offered for lease in April 1869:
TO~ LET by TENDER, for a term of years, the KOOROOCHEANG HOTEL, Smeaton, together with one hundred and twenty-four acres of first-class agricultural land. For particulars apply to JOHN ANDERSON, of Smeaton, Trustee in the Estate of the late John Kirk.[1]
