History[edit | edit source]

Mary was born Mary Jane Bell in about 1843. She married Thomas Trevorrow, a publican in Linton, in 1876. The marriage was on April 1876, in a ceremony at the residence of John Menhennet at Happy Valley.[1] After her husband's death in 1884, she took over the license of their Royal Standard Hotel in Linton.[2] In April 1890 she was charged with breaches of the licensing laws, including leaving the bar door unlocked out of hours, and selling liquor out of hours. She was fined £2, with £5 5s costs.[2]

She was still listed as the owner of the hotel when it was delicensed in 1920.[3]

Their son, also Thomas Trevorrow, died at 12 month on the 2 April 1878[4], and was buried in the Linton Cemetery.
