The Ormond Hotel was a hotel in Springbank, Victoria, <1869-1926>.

The Ormond Hotel was in Springbank.[1] There is an Ormond Road which travels north from the Western Highway through Springbank.

Background[edit | edit source]

History[edit | edit source]

On 22 March 1915, the hotel was included on a list of hotels to be deprived of their licenses. This list was complied by the Licenses Reduction Board in Melbourne. Licensing district hearings for hotels on this list were to be held at the Ballarat Supreme Court on 11 May.[1]

The publican was fined in January 1926 for breaches of the Licensing Act:

Margaret Keighery, licensee of the Ormond Hotel vas fined £5 on a charge of having allowed persons on the premises on Sunday, December 13. One of the men was fined £2 as he had two previous convictions for similar offences[2]

  • March 1871, Mr. S. Deeble held an election meeting at the hotel.[3]
