The Pacific Hotel was a hotel in Ballarat, Victoria, <1858-1873>.
Site[edit | edit source]
The Pacific Hotel was in Eyre Street[1]. The Star places it on the corner of Dana Street[2], but this is not possible as the two streets are parallel and do not intersect. The 1861 mining map is not clear, but indicate the hotel was on the north west corner of Eyre Street and Errard Street.[3] In 1864 a newspaper ad gives the address at the corner of Eyre and Errard Streets.[4] A newspaper reference in 1868 gives the address as Eyre Street.[5].

- March 1867 - the inquest into the death of Ballarat businessman, J. S. Carver, was moved from the hotel to the Cosmopolitan Hotel when the room proved to be too small for the crowd.[6]
