Pieter (Peter) Krygger was the publican of the Antwerp Hotel in Pleasant Street from at least 1869.[1][2][3]

In 1874, he was declared insolvent:

Peter Krygger, of Ballarat, colonial wine seller, Causes of insolvency-Falling-off of business, bad debts, and sickness in family. Liabilities, £61 15s 7d- assets, £46 43 Id ; deficiency, £15 11s 6d. Mr Levinson; assignee.[4]

He died in August 1878:

BALLARAT DEUTSCHER VEREIN — Die Mitglieder werden hier durch freundlichst eingeladen sich Begräbniss des verstorbenen Mitgliedes PETER KRYGGER, welches heute, Freitag, den 2ten August Nachmittags, 2½ Uhr, vom Trauerhause aus, 142 South Street, opposite Grapes Hotel, stattfindet— recht zahlreich zu betheiligen. H. RATHNOW, Secretary.[5]

BALLARAT DEUTSCHER VEREIN - The members are hereby kindly invited to attend the funeral of the late member PETER KRYGGER, which is taking place today, Friday 2nd August afternoon at 2.30am, from the funeral home, 142 South Street, opposite Grapes Hotel - all welcome.

His daughter two weeks later in August 1878:

THE Friends of the widow of the late Mr PETER KRYGGER are respectfully invited to follow the remains of her late DAUGHTER, Isabella Matilda, to the place of interment, the Ballarat New Cemetery. The funeral to move from her residence, 142 South street, This Day (Friday, the 16th instant), at One o'clock p.m.[6]
