The Phoenix Park Hotel was a hotel in Ballarat, Victoria, <1863-1892.

The Phoenix Park Hotel was in Lydiard Street, Soldiers Hill.[1][2]

Background[edit | edit source]

The hotel was one of 26 hotels in the Ballarat West Licensing District closed under the local option laws.[2]

Community Involvement[edit | edit source]

  • In September 1864 the Phoenix Quartz Mining Company of Rocky Lead, held a General Meeting at the hotel.[3]

Political[edit | edit source]

  • In July 1868, Mr. Doane who was a candidate in the elections for state parliament, held a meeting at the hotel. It was attended by about 60 people.[4]
  • In July 1886, P. B. Ivey held a political meeting at the hotel.[5]
