History[edit | edit source]
In June 1864 Hargreaves was granted the license for the Borough Boundary Hotel in Creswick Road, Ballarat.[1]
In December 1877 the police objected to the renewal of Hargreaves' license on the grounds that the hotel was dilapidated and badly furnished. The case was adjourned for two weeks.[2]
Hargreaves is still mentioned as the licensee in July 1886.[3]
In June 1889, Hargreaves was "obliged to leave the district", and the license was transferred to his wife, Eliza Hargreaves.[4]
