Robert McLaren was a publican in Ballarat, Victoria, <1858-1863>.

History[edit | edit source]

Robert McLaren was the publican of the Glasgow Arms, in Main Road, in June 1858.[1] He was refused a night license in July 1858 as the hotel was deemed by the court not to be a first class hotel.[2] His license was renewed in May 1869.[3]

McLaren was the publican at McLaren's Hotel in Bridge Street, from at least June 1861 to June 1863.[4][5][6]

In November 1865 he advertised he had moved to Melbourne:

ROBERT M'LAREN, of Ballarat, having taken the Glasgow Arms, Elizabeth street, Melbourne, (directly opposite the post-office) will be glad of a call from all old friends.[7]
