The hotel was in Fraser Street, Clunes.[1] (There was also a Commercial Hotel in Fraser Street).

The Sherriff of Ballarat advertised a forced auction of the property and all its fittings in April 1869.

MONDAY, 26th APRIL. In the Supreme Court Fi Fa 782. The Colonial Bank of Australasia v Hannah. TAKE NOTICE,—That under and by virtue of the above writ of fieri facias, and under a bill of sale, the Sheriff of the Ballarat Circuit District will cause to be SOLD by PUBLIC AUCTION, on the premises, the Royal Commercial Hotel, Fraser street, Clunes, on Monday, the 26th day of April 1869, at the hour of Eleven o'clock in the forenoon, All the Right, Title, and Interest of defendant in and to the superior Household Furniture, Bagatelle Table, Bay Horse, and a variety of Sundries, Without this execution be previously satisfied. Terms—Cash. JOSEPH IZOD, Sheriff's Officer. Sheriff's Office, Ballarat, 21st April, 1869.[1]
