History[edit | edit source]

In January 1910 the company announced it had reopened the mine and had done a test crushing on quartz samples which showed the chance of a good return.[1]

The re-opening of the Seymour quartz mine at Sulk Gully, and preparations for active operations on the Dam Hills line under the superintendence of Mr J. W.. Tank, give promise of solid improvement in connection with the mining industry this year. District residents have awaited quartz mining with patience, and are now full of hope for the future of the district.[1]
