Quinlivan held the license for the Royal Exchange Hotel in Doveton Street. He died on 5 January 1914:

Mr Thomas Quinlivan, the popular licensee of the Royal Exchange hotel, Ballarat, who died on Monday morning, was well known to many people in this district. The cause of death was pneumonia. The funeral took place on Tuesday and was very largely attended, the interment being at the Coghill's Creek cemetery.[1]
